Tiny Human, BIG Questions is a practical, hands-on newborn care class in East Greenwich, Rhode Island, designed to help expecting parents feel informed, prepared, and confident before bringing their baby home.
Led by Alyssa, a Labor & Delivery nurse and fellow mama, this class combines evidence-based newborn education with real-life experience to answer all those questions new parents have—but aren't always taught before leaving the hospital.
From diapering and feeding to newborn sleep, soothing, safety, and understanding your baby's cues, you'll learn what's normal, what to expect during those early days and weeks, and when it's time to reach out for additional support.
Think of it as your newborn survival guide—with plenty of opportunities to ask questions along the way.
💛 What We'll Cover
👶 Everyday Newborn Care
Diapering, bathing, swaddling, dressing, umbilical cord care, and other basics you'll use from day one.
🍼 Newborn Feeding
Breastfeeding, bottle feeding, feeding cues, how often newborns eat, and common early feeding questions and challenges.
🌙 Newborn Sleep & Soothing
What's normal for newborn sleep, safe sleep basics, calming techniques, and practical ways to soothe a fussy baby.
🤍 Understanding Your Baby
Learn to recognize your baby's cues, support bonding and connection, introduce tummy time, and understand early newborn behavior.
🩺 Health & Safety
Learn what's normal, what might warrant a call to your pediatrician, and important newborn safety basics.
🏡 Life at Home with a Newborn
We'll talk about realistic routines, postpartum support, parental well-being, and what those first days and weeks at home can actually look like.
Our goal isn't for you to leave knowing everything—it's for you to leave feeling more confident in your ability to understand, care for, and respond to your new baby.
